How counselling can help
I am trained as a person-centred counsellor, and it is my aim to provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which you can talk about anything that may be troubling you.
There is a huge range of emotions, feelings and experiences that might lead you to seek counselling - confusion, fear, loss, sadness, anger, despair, loneliness, shame, low self-esteem, demotivation, the list is long.

I firmly believe that being allowed to talk about and explore your thoughts and feelings can help set you on the road to understanding them. In our sessions we will look at the way you feel now, today, and we will explore what it is that is causing you to feel this way . In time, we can then look at how you can move forward. Through counselling you can learn to accept the things that cannot be changed as well as making decisions about things that can.

I will listen to your words and hear what you are saying and feeling. I will work hard to step into your shoes and share your experience from your own unique perspective. I will not judge, but rather I will value you and the way you feel. It is not my way to offer advice, instead I will work with you to help you to find your own path forward.

I have experience of working with many issues, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, stress, relationship breakdown, infertility, aging, suicidal thoughts, to name a few. Clients who have worked with me often find themselves sharing thoughts and feelings for the first time, things that they have never felt able to tell anyone else or to say out loud before. Just by sharing these things the work begins.
